it's been a while since I've been doing this, but let's give it a try. I handle Alexander Birch, mostly known simply as Xander. That guy has some serious history, reaching almost ten years back when it comes to roleplaying. So my approach for my recent run in TWG was not to throw that away. I just can't come in and be the rookie. Xander startet as a Cagefighter in Atlantic City, USA. He was born and raised there, and he got sucked in by the Casinos and the ugly face of the town. The wrong kind of friends got him into illegal Cagefights. Happened to be he was pretty good at it. A wrestling trainer who ran a small promotion in New York soon saw untapped potential and convinced him to train in the ring. Aidan Grey became his friend and mentor. Aidan wasn't a choirboy, teaching Xander to do what's necessary, at least when it came to fighting. He was well known and feared for his ruthless style. It became, what defined his personalty. A cruel man with his eyes set on the next fight, a prizefighter. Bigger promotions came and paid him well, and he flew up the ranks. He was always a tweener, never the shining good guy. He has a good sense of humor, but barely makes friends. As a lone wolf, he became part of AWF. And there, he reached for his first Wolrd Title. He won it against the federeations prime champion in the very last PPV before the fed went off air - with a bang. The owner decided to literally nuke the place and blew up the arena. Xander survived, but it changed him. As he recovered physically, his mind cracked. Xander became obsessed with the thrieve for succes. And with this oponents. He was playing mindgames, which ultimately turned on him. He snapped and after some brutal beatings his mind gave up on him. Recognizing too late that he was manipulated by dark forces acting in the background, he had to seek for medical assistance. With a lot of therapy and even more medication, Xander slowly made progress. He made peace with the voices in his head. But his old personality totally slipped away. He became a notorious loser, a friendly, but harmless guy who always seemed to be off beat. That was the time when Kenny Chimes met him, a worn-out wrestling promoter who seemed to have always been worn-out. Xander tried to fix his karma, tried to help and do good stuff. While his popularity grew, it all never paid of in having luck. Until that one day, where he stopped a bad guy from robbing a Cornershop. The shopkeeper thankfully rewarded him a lottery ticket. It turned out it was worth 80 million dollar. Xander got rich - but didn't quite know what to do with the money. He spend it on mostly senseless, yet funny things. While losing all his money, Xanders old self came back to surface. Not the psychopath, but the self-confident loner he was at the beginning. That's where we met him. In his late 30's, a faded Superstar dreaming of the old days, willing to do what he must - but also having some decent sense of humor and the heart on the right spot.
If you handle Xander, keep in mind that he's willing to cheat and break the rules. But he doesn't run away. He always has a plan, even if it's plan b or c.
I try something really weird in my RPs, which will allow me to start over. Stay tuned.
